Most of us have experienced that moment when you accidentally cut your finger and a few days later it’s almost impossible to tell it ever happened. That quiet, natural repair is the body’s healing power in action and it’s exactly what inspired me to bring platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy into my clinic.
PRP isn’t a fad. It’s a treatment that uses your own blood to stimulate repair, renewal, and regeneration. For me, it represents a way of working with nature rather than against it.
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. Platelets are the part of your blood packed with growth factors - natural proteins that trigger cell repair, boost collagen, and support tissue recovery.
In PRP therapy, we take a small sample of your blood, separate out the platelets, and then place that concentrated plasma exactly where it’s needed. Think of it as focusing your body’s natural healing signals on a specific area.
Research shows PRP can improve:
Because PRP comes from your own body, results tend to look and feel natural - not “done” or artificial.
There are many PRP systems available, but I was drawn to Regen’s Cellular Matrix for two key reasons:
1: Closed system = safer handling Their unique closed system reduces the risk of contamination. For me, safety has to come first, so this was a big factor.
2: PRP + Hyaluronic Acid (HA) combination Most systems don’t allow PRP and HA to mix effectively. Regen’s Cellular Matrix stabilises both, so you get the immediate hydration of hyaluronic acid along with the longer-lasting regenerative effects of platelets.

A 2021 study published in Aesthetic Surgery Journal found that PRP combined with HA outperformed either treatment alone, improving skin elasticity, hydration, and patient satisfaction for six months or longer (PubMed, 2021).
I don’t believe in calling any treatment or product a miracle. But I do believe in following the evidence, and the Cellular Matrix has strong data and a reassuring safety record that make it a good fit for my clinic.
Something I always explain to my patients: the best results often come from multi-modal treatments -using therapies that complement each other.
One of the most effective combinations supported by research is PRP with laser treatments. Here’s why:
Together, these treatments can deliver smoother texture, reduced scarring, and brighter skin than either option alone.
This “layered approach” is what often gives the most natural, long-lasting results in aesthetics.
While many people first hear about PRP as the so-called “vampire facial,” the benefits go far beyond facial rejuvenation:
The most common feedback I hear after PRP treatments is:
“I feel fresher and healthier”. Not drastically different, not “overdone” - just fresher, more comfortable, and more confident.
For me, PRP represents the best of aesthetic medicine:
Whether used for skin, hair, or intimate wellness, PRP is about supporting your body’s ability to heal and restore itself. And that’s why it has a permanent place in my clinic.
If you’re curious about PRP and whether it could be right for you, the best first step is a consultation. Every treatment plan is personalised, and PRP can often be combined with other therapies for the best outcomes.
